The following Particulars and Conditions of Sale of Crown Land by Public Auction, to be held on the 16th Instant at Noon, are published for general information.

Particulars and Conditions of the letting by Public Auction Sale, to be held on Tuesday, the 16th day of April 1867 by Order of His Excellency the Governor, of a certain Lot of Crown Land in the Colony of Hongkong for a term of 999 Years.

CONDITIONS OF SALE

1. The highest bidder above an upset price of $66,200 shall be the Purchaser and if any dispute arise the Lot shall be put up again at a former bidding.

2. No person shall at any bidding advance less than $100.

9. Immediately after the fall of the hammer the Purchaser shall sign the Memorandum of Agreement hereinafter contained for completing the purchase according to these conditions, and shall within three days of the day of Sale pay into the Colonial Treasury the amount of Premium at which the Lot shall have been knocked down.

4. The Purchaser of the Lot shall be entitled to and shall execute on demand a Lease from the Crown of the Piece or Parcel of ground comprised in such Lot for 999 years, to be computed from the 24th day of June 1867 at such Annual Rental payable half yearly on the 24th day of December and the 24th day of June in every year as is specified in the particulars of such Lot hereinbefore contained, and such Crown Lease shall be subject to and contain all the Exceptions, Reservations, Covenants, Clauses and Conditions usually inserted in the Crown Leases of Inland Lots in the Colony of Hongkong and contained in the Printed Form of Crown Lease mentioned in Schedule A annexed hereto and also such Special Covenants an abstract whereof is annexed hereto in Schedule B as have reference to this particular Lot.

5. The Purchaser of the Lot if a Body Corporate shall execute the Lease under its common Seal, or in such manner and form as the Law Officer of the Crown may advise.

6. The Purchaser of the Lot shall pay to the Surveyor General a Fee of $5 upon the execution of the Crown Lease thereof.

7. Should the Purchaser neglect or fail to comply with any or either of these conditions his Premium shall immediately upon such neglect or failure become forfeited to Her Majesty who shall be at full liberty either to enforce the sale or to re-sell the Property at such time and place and in such manner as to Her Majesty shall seem fit, and in case of a re-sale the increase if any of the Premium or Purchase Money shall be retained by Her Majesty and the deficiency if any and all costs and expenses shall be made good by the Defaulter and be recoverable as liquidated damages.

8. Possession of the Lot sold shall be given to the Purchaser and deemed to have been taken by him on the 24th day of June, 1867.

9. The Breach of any or either of the Special Covenants an abstract whereof is contained in Schedule B shall be attended with a like right of re-entry on the part of Her Majesty as is vested in Her in respect of the Breach of the ordinary Covenants.

SCHEDULE A.

The Printed Form of Crown Lease referred to in Section of the foregoing Conditions of Sale can be inspected on application at the Surveyor General's Office previously to the Sale.

SCHEDULE B.

Abstract of Special Covenants referred to in the foregoing Conditions of Sale.

1. The Purchaser of the Lot shall permit and suffer Her Majesty's Surveyor General and all workmen employed by him at all times after the giving of a notice in that behalf to enter upon the said Lot for the performance of the works hereinafter mentioned.
